This escorted package offers you the opportunity to experience the legendary Passion Play in Oberammergau and take a scenic drive from Munich through the stunning landscapes of the Bavarian Alps.

Note: For your convenience, please add arrival and departure transfers on Days 1 and 5 by private car between airport and hotel. This package is fully escorted by an experienced Tour Director, who will greet you at your welcome reception on Day1 and will be on hand until your return to Munich on Day 5.

The Package :
Envision a small Bavarian village nestled in the shadows of the Alps in 1633. Bubonic plague descended and many lives were lost to this baffling illness. The villagers made a vow that, if the lives of the villagers were spared, the entire village would enact a play depicting the life and death of Jesus. Amazingly, the Plague did not claim any more lives and true to their vows, the villagers of Oberammergau performed their first play in 1634. This play now involves over 2,000 performers, musicians, and stage crew, all of whom are residents of the village, and is staged every ten years.

A total of 4 nights accommodation will be provided. Night 1 - Leonardo City West (June 15 )or Courtyard by Marriott (9/03) Munich Night 2 - Hotel Angerbraeu, Murnau Night 3 - Hotel Angerbraeu, Murnau Night 4 - Courtyard by Marriott, Munich.

Itinerary:

1. Day 1: June 15 - Arrive Munich.
   • Transfer to hotel on your own arrangements.
   • Check-in at the Leonardo City West Hotel.
   • Welcome reception at hotel with drinks and hors d'oeuvres.
   • Overnight at Hotel.
2. Day 2: June 16 - Munich to Oberammergau.
   • Breakfast at hotel.
   • Transfer to Oberammergau with tour of Munich en route.
   • Hot dinner.
   • Overnight at Angerbraeu Hotel in Murnau.The picturesque town of Murnau is located on the edge of the Bavarian Alps, and notable for its Murnau Castle Museum and Munterhaus Museum.
3. Day 3: June 17 - Oberammergau.
   • Breakfast at hotel.
   • Morning free at your leisure.
   • Shuttle transfer from hotel to Oberammergau . Perhaps stroll through the village of Oberammergau - visit the Oberammergau Museum, the Pilatus House or the Roman Catholic Parish Church of St. Peter and Paul.
   • Enjoy an appetizing lunch before the play begins.
   • Passion Play Part 1 , 2:30pm to 5:00pm (category 1 seat).
   • Enjoy a hot dinner with several courses during the play intermission.
   • Passion Play Part 2 , 8:00pm to 10:30pm (category 1 seat).
   • Shuttle transfer back to Murnau.
   • Overnight at Angerbraeu Hotel in Murnau.
4. Day 4: June 18 - Oberammergau to Munich.
   • Breakfast at hotel.
   • Tour and entrance to the fantasy castle of Neuschwanstein enroute to Munich.
   • Overnight at Courtyard by Marriott.
5. Day 5: June 19 - Depart Munich.
   • Breakfast at hotel.
   • Hotel check-out.
   • Departure transfer on your own arrangements.

Please Note: Final payment is due by August 13, 2009 and is non-refundable and non-changeable thereafter. This package can only be booked in increments of 2 passengers sharing a twin/double room. Other room types (such as single or triple basis) are not available. Rooms allocated in Oberammergau are double-bedded rooms. There is no guarantee that you will receive two beds in a room, although we will try our best to accommodate your request.
