Day
01 : Arrive Delhi
Upon arrival, our representative will welcome each member with garlands. After the welcome, we drive in a Luxury Car to The Oberoi Hotel (Deluxe Room).
Day
02: Delhi
After breakfast, city tour begins with visits to the Raj
Ghat (Mahatma Gandhi's Memorial), the Jama Masjid
(The Universal mosque which can accommodate 20000 people at
a time for prayers), The Red Fort (Built by Mughal
Emperor Shah Jahan). Later we will visit the Chandni Chowk
Bazaar (Silver street), enjoy
the rickshaws ride (tricycles) through the narrow lanes of
the silver and goldsmiths street and the spice market. At
Lunch (own arrangements) we shall arrange for meeting with
University professor for discussion on Hinduism and Indian
Politics. Afternoon proceed for city tour of New Delhi, visiting
the Qutab Minar (A 70 meters high victory tower built
about 800 years ago), the Nila Gumbad and Emperor
Humayun's Tomb (This tomb has served as the base model
for the other Mughal Monuments to follow - including the Taj
Mahal). We also drive past to the India Gate (Built
to pay tribute to the 30,000 Indian soldier, who lost their
lives while fighting for the British during the First World
War), the Parliament House and the Presidential
Palace. You will visit the National Museum - with
some fine costumes of tribal and its collection dating back
to the 3rd century BC. This evening, you will see the Cultural
dance performance and have Welcome Dinner at the
famous restaurant. B D
NOTE : The Red Fort & National Museum remains closed on
Mondays.
Day
03 : Delhi
Morning free to relax or enjoy Spa or Ayruvedic massage
at the hotel. Afternoon visit Akshardham temple. Akshardham
Temple (closed on Mondays), a perfect blend of traditional
stone art and architecture with contemporary and modern technology.
The 100-acre complex of Swaminarayan Akshardham is where ancient
values and timeless spirituality are parallel with the modern
thoughts. The perfect combo of pink sandstone and white marble
gives a magnificent look to the 141 feet high and 316 feet
wide main monument. There are 234 ornately carved pillars
and nine domes portraying the lives of the deities and avatars.
This evening you will dine at The Spice Route at The Imperial,
serving Southeast Asian cuisine, has been designed to reflect
the journey of spices from the Malabar Coast in Kerala through
Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Indonesia to Thailand and Vietnam.
The Restaurant is an overwhelming visual depiction of the
art and culture that traveled through these regions. B D
Day
03 : Delhi - Sikandra - Agra (By road - 4 hours drive)
This morning, drive to Agra, enroute stop at Sikandra
10 kms before Agra, to see the Mausoleum of the Mughal
Emperor Akbar. This building has an excellent Muslim architecture,
which is very evidently visible in the subsequent Mughal buildings,
including the Taj Mahal. Continue on drive to Agra. On arrival,
check in to The Oberoi Amar Vilas Resort (Deluxe Room).
After wash and change, visit the Agra
Fort, reminiscent of the glorious and sorrowful
Mughal reign. At sunset, visit the legendary Taj Mahal
by decorated Tonga's. Dinner at the hotel. B D
Day
04 : Agra
After
breakfast, visit the Agra Fort, reminiscent of the glorious
and sorrowful Mughal reign, visit the mausoleum of Itmad-ud-Daula
: The tomb of Mirza Ghiyas Beg (Father of the Empress
Nur Jahan) - and an earlier example of the fine workmanship
of the Taj Mahal. Late afternoon, meeting with historian to
discuss Mughal Architecture and Taj Mahal. At sunset, visit
the legendary Taj Mahal, poetry in marble and a symbol of
eternal love. Later, evening get ready for a DINNER at
PESHAWAR, a barbequed specialty restaurant, with authentic
North West Frontier cuisine, at hotel Mughal Sheraton.

05 : Agra - Abhaneri / Fatehpur Sikri - Jaipur (By road -
6 hours drive)
After breakfast, drive to Jaipur. En route visit the Mughal
Emperor Akbar - Fatehpur Sikri, built entirely of red sandstone
and Tomb of Salim Chisti. Continue drive on to Jaipur. Stop
at Abhaneri is a small village is known for its beautiful
baoris (step wells) and the famous Harshat Mata
Temple. Abhaneri is believed to have been established
by Raja Chand. Many believe that Raja Chand was in fact Raja
Bhoja, a celebrated king who ruled over the Gurjar kingdom
in the 9th century. Abhaneri was earlier known as Abha Nagri
or the city of brightness. Today, this ancient village is
in ruins. Tour the Chand Baori with a vast well with flights
of steps on three sides is a 10th century monument. It is
a fine example of the architectural excellence prevalent in
the past. This impressive step-well is deep as a seven storeyed
building. See the famous Harshat Mata Temple opposite the
well. Historians believe there might have been a religious
connection between the two. The step-well is 35 meters on
each side with steps leading down from each side where water
can be drawn from any level. Stop at Fatehpur Sikri, the Mughal
Emperor Akbar, built it entirely of red sandstone and now
declared as a World Heritage Monument, Continue to Jaipur.
On arrival, check in to The Oberoi Raj Vilas (Deluxe Room).
Rest of the day vehicle at disposal. Evening COCKTAIL DINNER
at the hotel, over a session filled with exchanging of
ideas, coming up with feedback of tour, talking on issues
related to India and Indian culture, with the tour escort.

06 : Jaipur
After breakfast, visit the fairy tale like Amber Fort,
where you ascend the hill like a Maharaja on the back of an
elephant. After Amer, we have a (optional) visit to a carpet
weaving unit making hand knotted carpets, using vegetable
dyes, thereby making the colors of each piece unique. Afternoon
city tour of Jaipur, which includes visits to the City Palace
of the Jaipur Maharaja, the honey-comb designed Hawa
Mahal, (also known as the Palace of Winds), from where
the royal ladies, who lived in seclusion, observed life on
the outside. Also visit the amazingly accurate Jantar Mantar
stone Observatory. This evening drive to Samode for dinner.

07 : Jaipur / Udaipur (By flight 9W 709 - 07:00 hrs / 09:30 hrs)
Early morning, the representative will assist you for transfer
to the airport to fly to Udaipur. On arrival, you will
be met by a representative and transferred to hotel. Afternoon,
city tour of Udaipur includes the City Palace, Saheliyon-ki-Bari
(Garden where women of the royal household would meet) and
the Jagdish Temple (Built in 1651 A.D. by Maharana
Jagat Singh, this Indo-Aryan temple is the most beautiful
temple of Udaipur). Afternoon visit Shilpgram - an
artisan village. We will arrange for meeting with miniature
artist). This evening, enjoy EXCLUSIVE boat ride on
Lake Pichola. Dinner at the Hotel. B D

08 : Udaipur - Ranakpur - Udaipur (By road - 2 hrs one way)
After breakfast, full day excursion to Ranakpur for
sightseeing of the fabulous 500-year-old Jain Temples. The
temples are superbly preserved in near perfect condition.
The most distinctive feature are the 29 halls of the main
temple, some octagonal and many more than one story high,
are dissected by 1444 pillars, each sculpted with unique designs
which no two are the exactly alike. The carving on the walls,
while musicians and dancers have been modeled out of brackets
between the pillars and the ceiling. You will lunch at the
Maharani Bagh Orchard Retreat, the royal orchards of
the Jodhpur Maharaja. Dinner at the Sunset View
Restaurant at Fateh Prakash Palace. BLD
Day
09 : Udaipur / Mumbai (By Flight 9W 709 - 0815 / 0930 hours)
After breakfast, the representative will assist you for transfer
to the airport to fly to Mumbai, the dynamic city of tycoons,
skyscrapers, film studios and big business. On arrival, you
will be met by a representative and transferred to The
Oberoi Hotel (Superior Room). Late morning, city tour
of Mumbai, includes, the British built arch "Gateway
of India", Bombay's landmark, and constructed in 1927,
to commemorate the visit of King Emperor George V, who made
the first-ever State, visit to India by a reigning monarch.
Followed by a drive through Hanging Gardens (now known as
Sir K.P. Mehta Gardens), where the old English art of topiary
is practiced. Continue with a drive through Marine Drive,
only claimed from the sea in 1920 - hence the austere buildings
lining it. At night its superb sweep from Nariman Point to
Malabar Hill twinkles prettily, earning it the cliché: the
Queen's necklace. Proceed to see William Steven's masterpiece,
the Victoria Terminus (1878-1887), showing how the Gothic
of Scott and Burges could be adapted to India and make a really
impressive public building. See the exterior carvings on the
history of India's transportation. The Prince of Wales
Museum, is another building designed by Wittet to commemorate
the globetrotting George V, due to his first visit to India
in 1905, before becoming king. It houses an extensive collection
of fascinating 18th and 19th century miniatures. On the same
floor are elegantly carved ivory artworks as well as jade
and Indian bronze images. Dinner at the Taj Mahal Hotel.

Day
10: Mumbai Departure
After breakfast, enjoy a boat tour of the Elephanta Caves,
located on a small island about an hour boat-ride from the
Gateway to India. These caves built between the 6th and 8th
Centuries have some beautiful Hindu sculpture. Afternoon will
be at leisure. Dinner at the hotel. After dinner, the
representative will assist you for transfer to the International
airport to board the flight for onward journey. BD
