India Tours - Program 1 - 9 Days

Note: Have increased a night in Agra, as the drive from Jaipur to Agra would be long and tiring and the next day again after sightseeing they would have to do another stretch of drive. So we would suggest 2 nights here, so that they are able to visit Agra at a leisurely pace.

Day 01 : Arrive Delhi
On arrival at Delhi International airport, you will be met by a representative and transferred to hotel.

Day 02: Delhi
This morning, tour of Old Delhi visiting the Raj Ghat (Mahatma Gandhi's Memorial), the Jama Masjid (The Universal mosque), and the Red Fort. Travel by cycle rickshaw through the fabled Chandni Chowk (Silver street). Here, alleys filled with Gold and Silversmiths, the exotic spice market and colorful fabric merchants are but some of the few sights that will amaze and tempt you. Afternoon, tour of New Delhi, includes, the Qutab Minar (A 70 meter high victory tower), Emperor Humayun's Tomb. Drive past to the India Gate, the Houses of Parliament and the Presidential Palace (Rashtrapati Bhawan). Also visit the Craft Museum & village, and later visit the Birla Temple to see the evening prayers. This evening, you will see Dances of India, and have dinner at Chor Bizarre restaurant. B D
NOTE : The Red Fort & Craft Museum are closed on Mondays.

Day 03 : Delhi - Mandawa ( By road - 6 hours drive )
After breakfast, you will be driven to Mandawa through the industrial belt of Haryana State and small towns of Rajasthan. On arrival, check in to the Castle Mandawa & Desert Resort (Deluxe / First Class). The city was founded in 1755 by Thakur Nawal Singh and his descendants still live here. The family house holds a good collection of an armor, costumes and 19th century canons. This region is also called the open-air art-gallery of India. Afternoon tour of Mandawa, includes, the Chokhani, Saraf & Ladia Haveli's (mansions decorated with beautiful frescoes). This evening, dinner at the castle will preceded by a fire and sword procession- similar to that of the Maharajas of ancient times. B D

Day 04 : Mandawa - Jaipur ( By road - 3 hours drive )
After breakfast, you will be driven to Jaipur. Arrive and check in to the Rambagh Palace Hotel (Deluxe) / The Trident Hilton Hotel (First Class). Afternoon city tour of Jaipur, includes, the City Palace of the Jaipur Maharaja and the major Rajput landmark, the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds), built in 1799 AD. Continue on to the Jantar Mantar, a stone observatory, the largest of Jai Singh's five remarkable observatories. Late afternoon, you are invited for Tea at a local family home to learn about the religion, culture, and joint family system. B

Day 05 : Jaipur
This morning, visit the Amber Fort, where you ascend the hill like a Maharaja - on the back of an elephant. Afternoon, drive of about 15 kms from Jaipur through the countryside past pretty mustard fields to the village of Sanganer made famous by the crisp cotton Sanganeri saris in cool summer shades. Here one can observe the art of block printing and tie and dye cloth printing. This evening, you will see Cultural program and have dinner at the Chokhi Dhani, an ethnic village resort. B D

Day 06 : Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra ( By road - 6 hours drive )
After breakfast, you will be driven to Agra. En route, visit the Mughal Emperor Akbar, Fatehpur Sikri, built entirely of red sandstone and now declared as a World Heritage Monument. On arrival, check in to the Taj View Hotel (Deluxe) / The Trident Hilton Hotel (First Class). Afternoon, visit the Agra Fort, and the legendary Taj Mahal at sunset. B
NOTE : The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays.

Day 07 : Agra
After breakfast, visit the Agra Fort, reminiscent of the glorious and sorrowful Mughal reign, visit the mausoleum of Itmad-ud-Daula : The tomb of Mirza Ghiyas Beg (Father of the Empress Nur Jahan) - and an earlier example of the fine workmanship of the Taj Mahal. Also visit Mother Teresa Orphanage. Late afternoon, visit to an ordinary / non premier school, and talk to some teachers to understand the primary / secondary education system in India in general. At sunset, visit the legendary Taj Mahal ( on a nicely decorated tonga ), poetry in marble and a symbol of eternal love. Evening COCKTAIL DINNER at the hotel, over a session filled with exchanging of ideas, coming up with feedback of tour, talking on issues related to India and Indian culture, with the tour escort. B D

Day 08 : Agra - Delhi ( By road - 4 hours drive )
After breakfast, you will be driven to Delhi. On arrival, check in to hotel. Car & driver will be at your disposal for last minute shopping etc. Farewell Dinner at an Indian home, coupled with a live cooking demo which will help you understand Indian cookery and the ingredients used to make it spicy and Indianized . B D

Day 09 : Delhi Departure
The representative will assist you for transfer to the International airport to board the flight for onward journey.

  • Airport tax on departure from India (Rs. 700 per person).
  • Any International / Domestic Airfares, as mentioned in the itineraries.
  • Any personal expenses like telephone Call, Laundry, shopping, table drinks, fee for the cameras/video camera at the monuments, museums etc.
  • Any additional expenses caused by or liability for disturbance in the trip due to circumstances beyond our control such as airline & railway delays, roadblocks, vehicle malfunctions (mechanical breakdown) and other conditions like sickness, natural disasters, wars etc.
  • Liability for or insurance against injury, loss of life, accidents, damage or loss of goods.
